Why does my work have very low rates?
There can be so many reasons. First of all, check your comments. If others rate your work very low, most likely the answer will be there. If you are a beginner, your creation might have some shortcomings, not well-planned or not done with professional tools. You can always ask other designers for feedback on your work. Follow their advices.
Do not give up so easily. Although low rates may impact your ranking, they do not impact your participation to a contest. You can always win, as long as your creation is the best for a client. Ratings help to express others? opinions, but remember - there's no accounting for taste! If something is not fine for other designers, does not mean that a client will not like it.
